Have you ever wondered what your website looks like in different web browsers? How about different browser versions? Or, what about browsers on different operating systems? Well, I want to introduce you to a site called BrowserShots. BrowserShots allows you to see how your website looks in different web browsers and even different operating systems without having to install the different web browsers and operating systems. Although it runs a little slow (around 30 minutes), it’s still extremely easy to use and provides a big help with designing and testing your website in different browsers. All you have to do is enter your web address in the URL box and click the big green “Submit” button. BrowserShots will create images of what your website looks like in the different browsers and uploads the images as they become available. You can view your screenshots directly from the BrowserShots site or download them to your file system for later reference. After you’ve submitted your URL, be sure to refresh the page ever-so-often to see the images as they become available. The site is free to use and they even provide the source code used on the site in case you’d like to accomplish something similar. Check it out and be sure to bookmark the site. This is another nice tool to have in your web design toolbox.
