woot! woot! woot! woot!

A few days ago, I went on a rant about how my internet service with Windstream sucks. Well, today I want to go in the other direction and show some appreciation for someone that I always receive excellent service from, woot! If you aren’t familiar with woot!, you need to get familiar and get familiar immediately! You can locate woot! at http://www.woot.com. woot! was recently purchased by the mega-giant Amazon.com (another favorite of mine). The purpose of woot! is to provide 1 deal every day, and I must say that the deals are always worth it! You can find daily deals for everything from gadgets and electronics to vacuums and garden supplies. They even have a thing called the “woot! off” where they offer deals on products until they’re all sold out, but you’ve gotta get in early as those deals go fast!

Anyways, I wanted to show my appreciation for woot! today by sharing a recent experience with them. Yesterday, I ordered 2 of the 250GB harddrives for the Xbox 360 from woot! For those that aren’t up to snuff with the pricing for these harddrives, Walmart has the 60GB harddrive for sale at $99.99. I only paid $49.99 each for the 250GB harddrives from woot! Do the math, that’s a heck of a deal! I got a total of 440GB more storage for the same price as Walmart‘s 60GB. Not only was that an awesome deal, but woot! also threw in overnight shipping. I wasn’t expecting these things until after the new year. So, I was very much surprised when FedEx was banging on my door to deliver the new drives. (Which by the way, I prefer FedEx over any of the other carriers. But, I’ll save that for another day.) I plan on giving 1 of the drives to my nephew and keeping the other for myself.

From the look of all the woot! boxes laying around my house, one can tell that I do a lot of buying from woot! I even have the “woot! off” lights on my desk that I’ll be running thru the holidays to show my appreciation for woot! So, if you find yourself wanting to find a good deal for something you didn’t know you needed, head over to woot! and check ‘em out. But be warned! woot! can become extremely addictive! In fact, I’m hooked on woot! so much that there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t check their site to see what it is I need today. I’ve even written a small program that runs on my computer and enables my woot! lights when the woot! off is going on. As the deals sellout, the lights get dimmer and turn off completely when the woot! off is over.

What are you waiting for? Jump over to woot! and click the big yellow “I want one!” button now!
