Android ProblemFor a while now, my fiancee has been having problems with her Motorola Droid X2. For some reason, every time she would type a punctuation (period, exclamation, question), her phone would freeze. It would freeze while in both portrait and landscape mode and would even freeze if she pressed the spacebar twice. Before giving up and buying a new phone, I decided to do some digging on the web to see if I could find a fix. Luckily, I did find a fix and want to share that with the rest of you that might be having the same problem. The majority of users recommended swapping to swype mode for texting or to install a new SMS app. However, she would run into this problem in other apps and not just while texting (web browser, email, etc…). She also doesn’t like using swype for typing either. After trying about 15 different suggestions to fix the problem, the solution that finally worked was to go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Multi Touch Keyboard and clicking the “Clear Data” button. Once I clicked the “Clear Data” button, her phone went back to working normally. Now she can type text messages & emails and browse the web, all while using any punctuation she wants. I hope this helps those of you that might be experiencing the same problem.
